Vermutlich hat John Heartfield die alte Frau für eine Bühnenprojektion für das Stück "Die Mutter" von
Bertolt Brecht nach Maxim Gorki im Berliner Ensemble freigestellt.
Im Bestand sind Fotomontagen für die Bühnenprojektion des Stückes mit ähnlichen Motiven.
